Two People Die in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on I-287 in Parsippany, NJ

Two people were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on a highway passing through Morris County, NJ.

The fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Interstate-287 around 11:00 a.m. A 56-year-old Hamburg man was operating a 1994 Kawasaki motorcycle, with a 53-year-old Hamburg woman riding as his passenger. The pair was traveling on I-287 when the driver suddenly swerved to the right and left the roadway.

The bike came to a stop when it slammed into a guardrail on the highway. The force of impact with the guardrail caused both the driver and the passenger to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Other motorists saw the aftermath of the crash and dialed 911 to alert local law enforcement. Parsippany patrol officers and NJ State troopers soon arrived at the scene, along with emergency medical crews. Tragically, there was nothing that could be done to save the lives of the two victims: they were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Authorities later confirmed that the motorcycle crash victims lived at the same residence in Hamburg, New Jersey. However, officials did not comment on the relationship between the two victims.

New Jersey State Police investigators are currently looking into the fatal motorcycle accident as they try to determine exactly what caused the crash. At this time, investigators have not yet been able to determine the reason for the motorcyclist suddenly veering to the right and crashing.

The reality is that single-vehicle motorcycle accidents sometimes involve another vehicle on the road. That’s because other motorists don’t always respect the rights of bikers, which can lead to sudden movements by the motorcyclists as they attempt to avoid a collision with a car or truck that isn’t respecting the right of way of the motorcyclist.
