Biker Sustains Critical Injuries in Wayne NJ Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist reportedly lost control of his bike and crashed into a utility pole in Wayne, New Jersey.

The motorcycle accident occurred during the late-night hours, around 2:20 a.m., near the intersection of French Hill Road and Witkowski Way in Wayne, NJ. According to law enforcement, the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on French Hill Road in Wayne NJ when he approached Witkowski Way and suddenly lost control of the motorcycle. The bike skidded off the roadway and eventually came to a stop when it sideswiped a utility pole located just off the road. The impact caused the biker to be thrown from his bike and onto the pavement.

Another motorist on the road dialed 911 and alerted Wayne NJ police. Police officers and emergency medical crews were subsequently dispatched to the scene of the accident. When first responders with the Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad arrived in the area, they found the victim and transported him to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. After being treated at the medical facility, the victim was listed in critical condition. The injured rider was later identified as a 63-year-old resident of Wayne, NJ. Medical officials have not provided the media with an update on his condition.

The Wayne Police Department Traffic Bureau is actively investigating the bike crash, with detectives trying to determine exactly what might have caused the biker to lose control of the motorcycle in the first place. Since the weather conditions at the time of the motorcycle accident were decent and there was no inclement weather or rain on the way, one thing that investigators will almost certainly be looking at is whether there was a defective part on the motorcycle. In the event that a defective auto part caused the motorcycle crash, the victim and/or his family members may be able to file a product liability lawsuit against the bike manufacturer.
