A serious motorcycle accident inside the Lincoln Tunnel resulted in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist.
The motorcycle crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the New Jersey side of the Lincoln Tunnel. The motorcyclist was reportedly riding a 2007 Honda and traveling through the tunnel as he headed toward New York City when he suddenly lost control of his bike and crashed. The single-vehicle accident caused a significant roadblock and prevented other motorists from using the Lincoln Tunnel for several hours.
The victim lived in Englewood, New Jersey. He sustained catastrophic physical damage in the motorcycle accident and was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center. Doctors at the Jersey City NJ hospital treated the victim for his accident-related injuries and tried valiantly to save him, but they were unable to do so; he was listed in critical condition shortly after arrival and later died as a result of his injuries. A Port Authority Police spokesman later issued a statement to the media and confirmed that the motorcyclist had been pronounced dead by hospital officials.
The victim was just 24 years old at the time of his death. He worked as a barber at a popular barbershop in Englewood, NJ. After learning of his death, many of the victim’s friends got together and set up a Go Fund Me page over the Internet in the hopes of raising funds to cover his medical expenses and his funeral expenses.
Since the motorcycle crash did not involve any other motor vehicles, nobody else was injured in the auto accident.
