Rapper Fetty Wap Suffers Personal Injuries in Motorcycle Crash in Patterson

The good news is that rapper Fetty Wap, of “Trap Queen” fame, is going to be just fine after suffering a serious, but non-life threatening, injury in a motorcycle accident in Paterson, NJ on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The bad news, however, is that Willie Maxwell, the 25-year-old singing sensation, is now facing three traffic tickets following the crash. All three summonses add up to one thing: Fetty Wap shouldn’t have been on the motorcycle to begin with.

The accident, which involved Maxwell’s bike colliding with a car, happened one day after the singer’s debut album “Fetty Wap” was released. He was ticketed for not having a license, not possessing valid insurance and driving an unregistered motorcycle. The driver of the car, a woman, was also hurt.

According to police reports, witnesses to the accident said that Fetty Wap attempted to pass a car but was hit by another car that was approaching him from across the intersection. Motorcycle accidents at busy intersections are common because motorists routinely fail to “see” bikers sharing the road with them.

It’s not clear whose fault this particular accident was, but it’s certain that injuries stemming from a motorcycle accident can be serious and potentially fatal. Fetty Wap was very lucky, but countless other bikers have not been.
